Interior Decorating Tips

  Color Me Bad

I have recently shopped for paint at a home improvement store, and I have seen lots of people confused about what color paint to choose. Some had no idea where to start, if the color will make there décor, or some chose a different color for every room. WOW! Here’s some tips to help you when you decide to paint:
1. If you are not sure; pick a neutral color. Picking a neutral color is always safe and can be easily changed later on to something more vibrant.
2. Everything does not have to match exactly. Mix and match your colors. The rule is 60/30/10. 60% of your main color, 30% of your accent color, and 10% of something unexpected.
    3. The colors you choose, relates to your personality. I like earth toned colors like the gold/bronze. These colors gives the feeling of rich and friendly. Blue's are soothing and oranges are vibrant. What’s your personality color?
Home Staging Tips
  1. Not everyone likes your style. You may love your decorating style, but people trying to buy you house may not. Remember, if it's bold or specific to only one style, you could be lossing potential buyers. Neutralizing is your friend.
  2. Don't forget the curbs. When your buyers pull up to the property, you want them to come in and see more. Don't scare them away with un-inviting yard or front door.
  3. Overcrowding is a deal breaker. Lots of furniture will take away your square footage, in turn, making the rooms appear smaller. Pack up 2/3 of the room and show off a great space.
